ASTAR Education Institute, a non-profit language institute which recently expanded into Manassas, VA, is currently looking for a bilingual Admissions and Marketing Assistant to help with its day to day operations. This is a full-time hourly position that will evolve into a salary position after 1 month. The assistant will be a member of the team promoting our English language program in the area and helping with the enrollment of new and existing students. This a great opportunity to use your creativity and marketing experience to kick-start the new English language program in the area. The working hours for the position will be 9:00am to 5:30 Mondays and Fridays and 12:00pm to 8:30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The ideal candidate must be a quick learner, well organized, self-motivated, detail conscious, diplomatic, and be able to handle multiple projects. Responsibilities Include: * Promoting the English language program to the community * Creating marketing strategies and ideas to meet organizational objectives * Helping to oversee marketing, advertising and promotional activities * Expanding ASTAR’s presence and name in the area to bring in more students * Enrolling new students into new and existing classes * Assisting in the organization of class schedules with students, staff, and faculty Necessary Skills for Position: * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal well with students, staff, and faculty * Computer skills, including proficiency with Windows and Microsoft applications * Strong written and oral communication skills * Must be detail-oriented and well organized. * Creative and motivated personality * Previous marketing experience * Fluent in English and Spanish * Professional attitude and demeanor * Bachelors Degree Preferred Skills: * Knowledge and experience with other cultures * Familiarity with other languages * Cultural sensitivity Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position has been filled.
