Yellow Fiber Networks is looking for experienced full-time system administrator/support technicians to join our team in our Reston. We are fast growing Linux-based managed hosting company who provides a variety of solutions from virtual private servers to dedicated servers to complex clusters for clients worldwide. We have a very strong focus on providing fast, accurate, and personal customer service. Hours: 9am-6pm Mon-Friday with on call 24/7 shifts. Primary Responsibilities: Providing fast, accurate technical support through our ticket system and telephone Building, repairing, and deploying servers Troubleshooting x86 hardware, Linux OS, cPanel/WHM, Apache Quickly responding to, and repairing, failed services Performing server maintenance in our Reston datacenter Personal Requirements: Excellent customer service skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong logic and problem-solving skills Highly motivated, able to multi-task efficiently Minimum Technical Requirements: Advanced Linux System Administation Experience (4+ years minimum) - CentOS/RedHat Enterprise In-depth cPanel/WHM experience from the command line Advanced troubleshooting and configuration experience with: Apache, BIND, MySQL, cPanel, Exim Working knowledge of TCP/IP, IPTables, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, FTP, MySQL x86 Server Hardware Knowledge - RAID cards, kernel modules, rackmount systems, etc. Basic Scripting and Debugging Knowledge (PHP, Bash, Perl) Desirable Knowledge: Datacenter Environment Experience - Racking Servers, Cabling, etc. Virtuozzo/OpenVZ/Xen Virtualization Experience JunOS, IOS Networking Network Load Balancing Compensation: This is a salary position. Starting salary is DOE with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. We are also open to a contractor 1099 role as well. A 60-90 day probationary on 1099 will be required.
