Waimanalo area construction-related company seeking an accountant/full-charge bookkeeper. Ideal candidate is a self-starter with significant experience in the construction industry and will be responsible for the tasks listed below. Must be a multi-tasker who can work without supervision and meet deadlines. Person must be meticulous with complete attention for detail and accuracy. Position responsible for maintaining the accounting systems, policies, and procedures. Responsible for: 1) Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable - processing/posting with complete understanding of job cycle 2) Payroll – coordination of collection of employee time to include processing payroll, reporting, and payment of payroll taxes and other associated items 3) Bank reconciliations – monthly 4) Journal Entries – to include month-end and year-end closing 5) Journal entries 6) Job costing 7) Completion of general excise tax reports 8) Management reports and decision making/management tools - compiling, analyzing, and reporting Must be willing to work in primitive conditions, assertive and self-confident as required, willing to tackle tax compliance issues, organize complex and fragmented accounting systems, provide direction to owners in financial reporting, and work closely with outside accountants.
