The Institute for Human Services (IHS), Oahu's oldest and one of its largest homeless shelters is looking for a compassionate, highly organized and detailed individual for its CBCM (Community Based Case Management) Program Assistant position.
Responsibilities: Warmly welcomes guests to the CBCM Department; maintains incoming phone calls and phone message logs (to include triaging client calls); serves as liaison between program teams and outside community agencies; attends to behaviors exhibited by clients while in the office (e.g., shouting, pacing, cursing); and manages daily appointment calendar. Assists in set-up of charts for new clients; files progress notes, documents any incoming correspondence in client’s files; and conducts in-service training with regard to policies and procedures. Submits billing for AMHD reimbursement. Maintains all forms necessary for daily job related functions, records and processes requests; sorts, routes and prioritizes, and logs incoming mail and distributes to appropriate personnel; maintains client sign in logs; maintains client records in a universally approved method; types letters and memorandums; collects necessary data, and prepares reports. Coordinates monthly paperwork with business office; purchases office supplies and equipment. Assists in managing databases and computer records. Ensures appropriate security and back-up of client information.
Requirements: Minimum HS diploma/GED equivalent. Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in the field of Human Services. Minimum 1 year of office and/or administrative experience supporting multiple staff. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to communicate with a diverse population both verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner. Must have excellent command of the English language. Knowledge or training in mental health/substance abuse issues preferred. Has excellent people and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft and related software applications. Billing experience preferred.

Compensation: $34,000 to $36,000 Dependent on Education/Experience, Medical & Dental, 20 Days Paid Leave/Year, Life Insurance, 401 K and supplemental insurances.
