Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Reference Range Study for sVEGF R1 and PlGF, located at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children (KMCWC) in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, and availability of funds. MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $1,946.00. DUTIES: Assists the Principal Investigator and/or Research Supervisor in recruiting and enrolling subjects, collecting subject data and specimens (blood, urine and placental samples), reviewing charts, inputting data into several databases, performing subject evaluations and, after appropriate training, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. Preference for a degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other scientific field relevant to the position. EXPERIENCE: One to three (1-3) years of relevant experience in a research, laboratory, or hospital setting. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Working knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in a clinical research setting. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas verbally in a clear and accurate manner. Able to use laboratory equipment involving sample (blood, urine, placenta) labeling, dissecting, centrifuging, aliquoting and storing. Must have a valid driver’s license.
