Assistant Insurance Underwriter temp-to-hire position available immediately for an EXPERIENCED insurance professional Job Duties: Manage relationships with internal and external customers to maintain quality of end product and verify that documents follow established procedures Monitor critical areas, such as loss ratio, costs, retention ratio and new business hit ratio, formulating corrective action where necessary Work closely with companies to write new and renew business. Solves underwriting and regulatory issues, provides input on systems development support and makes recommendation for improvements. Considerable analysis is required to interpret rating plan financial parameters and coverage requirements, and solve problems. Interacts with other departments to ensure the availability and integrity of all account information to stakeholders. Ensures that the department work is being completed in a timely and efficient manner through appropriate control, monitoring and review of workflow. Implements procedures to increase efficiency. Ensures underwriting guidelines and the requirements of various regulatory agencies are followed. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 3 years insurance experience required. Must have full understanding of rating and underwriting process- with commercial lines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously. Requires in-depth knowledge of complex rating plans and detailed knowledge of underwriting, rating and production support operations.
