Available July 1st About the Place: We have one room for rent in a spacious 3 bedroom/ 2 bath house located on a large corner lot, in a quiet east Davis neighborhood. The house has large shared spaces which include a kitchen, large entry room with couches to relax on and a table to study on, a fireplace room with a couch and several chairs, and a washer and dryer area in the garage. There is a big tree in the backyard as well as an organic garden with lots of extra room to grow if you like to garden. The house is a 15 minute bike ride to the UC Davis Campus and is located near the P and Q Unitrans bus lines. The room for rent, for $440, is approximately 10.5’ x 9.5’ with a large window facing east and a closet space. You would be sharing a bathroom, with one other person, which is located across the hall. There is a $500 deposit, last month’s rent, and utilities range anywhere from $15-50 per month for PG&E and $20 per month for the internet and phone. The room is available July 1st and housemates are asked to join for a year lease starting September 1st. Move-in date can be Sept. 1st, but July 1st is preferred. About you: We are seeking individuals who value mutual respect, non-violent communication and conflict resolution, and clear household responsibilities. About Us: Matt: I recently finished my master’s in Mechanical Engineering at Davis with a focus on renewable energy. I completed my upper division study at Davis and have lived in Davis for the past five years, but I am originally from the San Jose and Monterrey Bay Areas. For fun I participate in the Davis Bike Collective, go on mountain bike rides, go contra dancing, work in the garden, and entertain friends. Rachael: I finished up a master’s at UC Davis last September and started working full time at the Army Corps of Engineers’ Sacramento District where I had been interning while I was finishing my degree.
