Our company is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated Network Administrator to join our team and support our internal corporate network infrastructure and applications servers. This job opening is a mid to senior level position where a self-managing individual will be given the opportunity to maintain a variety of different servers. Essential Job Duties Include: Maintain and monitor all aspects of our corporate network infrastructure. Evaluate and recommend purchases of new technology. For example, CPU/Memory assessment for servers/workstations per application needs; Data Storage needs assessment; Internal Networking servers, switches, wiring, etc. Create and approve infrastructure documentation used in all aspects of IT Infrastructure Operations, including systems configuration, troubleshooting steps, how-to documentation, etc. Essential Job Requirements: 3+ Years experience in IT related fields Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and (GPO) management. Understanding of Linux configuration and setup. Understanding of Samba, Winbind, and FTP. NIS and LDAP authentication. Strong Network knowledge and configuration. (Switches, Firewalls, and VPNs configurations). Understanding of SANs switching, routing and management such as the Pillar Axiom 500, Fiber, Parallel file systems http://www.dataplow.com/productinfo.htm . Understanding of Network backups and Data archiving. Ability to work well as a team and on your own. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to identify and resolve hardware and software technical problems related to servers, PCs, and LAN environment Learn and understand business processes and production applications to a level sufficient to troubleshoot issues and recommend and/or implement short and long-term resolutions. Work may require evening and weekend hours (Candidate will be required to be on-call). Core competency must include: Windows XP Windows 2003 Server Active Directory Microsoft Exchange Office 2000 - 2007 Experience desired in: FTP/VPN Server Administration Unix / Linux administration, Bash, Python Education: Degree in Computer Science, or related field preferred.
