Full time position in Lung Cancer Research at NMVAHCS
Description of position:
Seeking a motivated individual with relevant experiences in cellular/molecular biology. Our lab is conducting basic and translational research in lung cancer. Research will be supervised by the Principal Investigator. Research responsibilities will include: 1) processing biologic specimens and maintaining detailed inventory of specimen bank; 2) maintaining tissue/cell cultures and perform experiments; 3) isolating and characterizing RNA, DNA and proteins from a variety of biologic specimens; 4) working with clinical research coordinators; 5) collecting and analyzing data.
Other duties will include: 1) ordering, stocking, and organizing lab supplies; 2) maintaining laboratory equipment; 3) maintaining records of hazardous and radioactive materials.
Experience required:
Proficient with general cell/tissue culture, molecular and immunologic techniques, mononuclear cell/lymphocyte separation, RT-PCR, real-time PCR, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, western blot, flow cytometry, Immunohistochemistry.
Proficient with Microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint), photoshop, Working knowledge of SPSS program and basic statistical analyses.
