We currently have a Biotech Lab Technician position available at our Boise, Idaho R&D facility. Overview:The Plant Sciences research department of J. R. Simplot Company seeks a Laboratory Technician to support projects in molecular biology. Key Responsibilities:The successful candidate must provide effective and consistent support in:- Media preparation- Stock maintenance- Isolating DNA from bacteria and plants- Characterizing DNA using restriction enzymes, PCR, simple biochemical assays- Supporting the development of new vectors for transformation Skills & Experience Required:- BS degree in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry - Basic computer skills and some laboratory management including dishwashing and inventory management- Good communication and organization skills- Detail-oriented and an interest in learning new methods are essential Location Information:Located in the state of Idaho, Boise, also known as the City of Trees, is a diverse and thriving city.  With a vibrant cultural and recreational scene, Boise's mild and beautiful climate and friendly people make it one of the best places to live.  With numerous parks and local mountains, the city offers something for everyone.  For the outdoors enthusiast, there are great hiking, biking, fishing, hunting areas.
