My girlfriend and I have lived in this house for 4 years now. We love it and are pretty much determined to stay here until we can scrape together the mere half a million or so to buy a place of our own. In that time we've had three roommates two of whom we lost to "serious relationships" and the "marriage monster". The most recent of whom we have parted ways with due to personality conflicts. You can work with someone for years but you never know how much you don't get along with them until you try living with them..... So for our next roommate we've put together a list of things we would depend on you to have..... Please be: 1. Friendly, social, open minded and easy to get along with. 2. Have a good sense of humor (both dark and irreverent are highly welcomed) 3. Not only tolerant of irregular and regular social gatherings but willing to join in 4. Cleanly but not obnoxiously overly obsessive and OCD. 5. Gainfully employed and pays rent on time. 6. Liberal The house itself is three levels. We occupy the top level with a bedroom and an attached sitting room. The mid level contains a large living room, a large kitchen ad attached dinning area, a full bath and a bedroom that currently serves as my office. The basement level contains a bedroom with an attached sitting area, a 3/4 bath, a full kitchenette and a laundry facility. The backyard is large and fenced with lots of active garden space and a large patio. There is a single car garage but it is dedicated to storage. For living arrangements you consider both the main floor bedroom or the basement bedroom available. We have talked about moving my office to the basement for sometime and creating a separate common area down there. Either way this is a decision we would like to make with whomever we choose to move in. I am 32, and work as a freelance lighting designer. My girlfriend is 27 and works as a bartender. We would like our housemate to be of similar age and have an interesting career, however attitude is far more important. We often entertain small numbers of friend on a frequent basis (to clarify 2-5) and try to have a larger social gathering from time to time. To be clear these are not hardcore frat parties with ragging keg driven madness but mostly middle-classy affairs with decent beer and absurdest conversation. We do enjoy gathering on the back patio around the fire pit in the summers but must warn you that we have a single bitchy neighbor who puts a large damper on anything to late night. She has a tendency to call the landlord and complain at the drop of a hat. The landlord in turn mostly understands that she is full of shit but he doesn't like being bothered and has asked us to politely keep the peace. So out of control madness is an impossibility. However fire pits and relaxing conversation are a common practice. If you feel like this would be a good fit for you please don't hesitate to contact us. The room becomes available on July 24th. The rents as stated above would be $475+utilities including gas, water, electric and internet. To move in you will need $750 to buy out the former roommates portion of the security deposit and "last months" rent. You of course are eligible to receive this when you leave.
