In almost all cases decks can be sanded to look as good or better than when they were new. Expert in deck finish and applying deck finishes. Most deck finishes should not be applied in strong direct sunlight or when the surface temperature of the deck is above a certain temperature. Also most deck finishes should not be applied too sparingly with out wiping off excess finish. These and other factors can seriously diminish the longevity of the finish. Extensive experience with the finishes: Cabots, Superdeck, Penafin and Sikkens as well as many others, although in my opinion the latter are four of the best available.
