Title: SQL DBA Location: Murray, UT Duration: Contract Pay: DOE THIS POSITION NOT OPEN TO SPONSORSHIP, CORP-TO-CORP OR RELOCATION Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for supporting all SDLC and production SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, efficiency, availability and security * Work closely with multiple application teams to design/code logical and physical database objects * Work to ensure that hardware resources are allocated to databases and ensure high resilience and performance tuning. * To proactively monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. * Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. * Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL Server * Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include monthly release rollout and upgrades * Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs * Mentor application teams on best practices associated with database design and implementation in an *Agile* environment Skills / Attributes Required * 3 + years SQL Server Database Installation/Configuration/Administration experience * Object-oriented software development experience using Java - Great Opportunity to expand your Java coding horizons * Experience managing multiple MS SQL RDBMS * Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide efficiency and reliability. * Experience writing, debugging, and tuning Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures. * Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security * Ability to articulate a maintenance and backup plan * Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical listeners * Ability to understand to non-technical business issues and provide technical business solution * Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Strong work ethic * Team player * Ability to work in a very collaborative and *agile* environment * Ability to travel if needed * SQL Server certifications (MSTS, MCITP) recommended * Degree in Computer Science strongly recommended Location: Murray, Utah Compensation: DOE This is a contract job.
