General Responsibilities: Responsible for anchoring various newscasts for the weather segment; creating a live weather forecast using weather computer and software, videotaped and live field general assignment or weather reporting; assist in creating and implementing editorial direction of news department and following mission statement for news department. This position also fills in for main weather positions (AM and evening shows) Essential Duties: • Writes and produces news in timely and "non-biased fashion". • Is responsible for accuracy of story information and timing of news programs. • Edits videotape, writes news scripts and presents stories on air. • Responsible for the set-up, gathering, writing, editing of news stories. • Responsible for the accuracy of stories and newscasts, and web stories. • Videotaping and live field reporting/anchoring duties, and web publishing of stories. • Provides supervision to reporters, editors and photographers. • Works closely with news directors, graphics, editors and other production personnel • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
