Aerotek is currently seeking for two E & I Technicians (Electrical and Instrumentation) for a contract job in Elko, Nevada. The E & I technician will be working a the Barrick mines in Nevada in a project that will last 4-5 months. E & I technician will provide electrical & instrumentation support throughout the mine. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for Instrument calibration and testing - Responsible for the testing, troubleshooting and repair of electrical controls, electrical failures, electrical panels, and power distribution - Expert understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PLC logic - Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals on specified projects KEY COMPETENCIES: - Familiarity of automation and electrical system design, diagnosis and operation - Knowledge of the National Electrical Code - Read and understands electrical schematics, drawings, & P&IDs - Understands analog Instrumentation loops - Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot various instruments and valves - Understanding of PLC ladder logic, digital and sequential logic programming methods, and process related closedioop control systems - Ability to analyze and solve complex problems - Ability to operate various power, voltage and current measurement equipment via test instruments and hand tools - Ability to refrain from abusive or profane language and behavior in the workplace - Effectively communicates orally and in writing - Ability to distinguish colors and relationship between objects - Comfortable expressing an independent opinion, resilient to change and recognizes impact of their decision on others - Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under moderate supervision EDUCATIONIEXPERIENCE: Related professional training as an instrumentation, electrical and/or controls technician Associates or Industry certification preferred but not required 1+ years of experience in the electrical or instrumentation fields Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record Demonstrated competency in electronic testing equipment Well versed in Microsoft office programs This position is paying $28-32/hour + per diem.
