Hello, My name is Kevin Dorn. I own 3 boats and have recently aquired another. I presently maintence 4 outboards . The outboards are, 1968 chrylser 20 hp. 1985 sailmaster 9.9 2005 Briggs and stranton 5 hp. 1972 sears 3.3 aircooled. I have maintaned these motors and many other over time, but now I have a problem. I don't want to rebuilt 2 carbs on a 1971, 65 hp mercury or put an impeller on a 1985, 40 hp mariner. At 49 I'd rather be on the boats with a liitle more free time than fixing 2 motors and maintaining these 4, really 3.5, soon to be 5 as I have no need for the mercury as it is to be sold. I know that Parts are readily avaliable for all motors and can aquire all parts nessessary. I farmed the sailmaster out for a simple fix of a water cover replacement, and the certified shop had it 3 weeks for a $34 part and a $2 gasket. They also charged me 268.00 By the way they left the themostate out. $ 22 part. So I guess I need that too. What I really need is a outboard mechanic who wants this work at a fair wage and can turn a wrench. Spark plug and lower unit oil changes do not apply. Thanks for your time to read my rant. If you are interested I,d like to here from you. Kevin. Location: Boats it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests kentucky
