Anchorage book publishing company and wholesale book distributor is seeking applicants to fill an associate editor position. This position has opportunity for advancement. The associate editor assists in many aspects of the company’s business and is an excellent starting point for a career in publishing. Job duties include (but are not limited to) coordinating book signings and other publicity events, copy writing and editing, gathering information for the semi-annual Alaska Directory of Attorneys, data entry for new books, research, layout and design of promotional flyers and presentation of new products at semi-weekly sales meetings. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), organization skills, computer proficiency and an excellent attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Access and Adobe InDesign is a plus. We prefer applicants with a four-year college degree but are willing to consider applicants with commensurate experience. This is a full time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. position in Anchorage, Alaska. Compensation is $10 - $14 per hour, depending on experience. We will not pay any relocation costs.
